Ziegler, a Swiss company established in UK in 1880 producing rugs in Mahal area in less intricate designs than the original Mahal and Sarouk. This piece is a very well preserved , full pile with a very few small repairs, an astonishing decorative piece from the region. Mahal rugs are produced in the western part of Persia, near the city of Sarouk. They used mainly vegetable dyes and the wool is hand-spun of superior quality.
