About the piece

This is a finer version of most of the Bakhtiari rugs, woven in the village of Chaleh shotor ( translated to camel dip)which we believe derives from the location and the position of the village Bakhtiar region, south of Isfahan.Rugs from Chaleh shotor village are considered to be among the finest and in terms of design, the most well drawn designs, generally in medallion or the garden design with lustrous wool.this is a very good sample of this area and a true Persian rug. It had been in the collection of an important dealer for more than 60 years and it is unusually very well preserved.
