Lori Rugs

Lori / Luri rugs are tribal rugs from the nomadic Loris / Luris living in Lorrestan (also Lorestan, Lurestan) in western Iran. These tribes are closely related with the Kurds and the Bakhtiary, and their weaving styles are also similar, especially old Lori rugs used to be flat-woven. In the trade, Luri rugs are sometimes called Yalameh or Arabbaff rugs. Carpet designs include traditional tribal patterns, floral as well as geometric elements, dominating colours are bright reds, orange and blue tones.
