Kurdi Gouchan Rug
Gouchan is a small city south-west of Mashad in Iran’s Khorassan province. Goochan serves as a collection point for tribal and village rugs from Kurdish and Afshar weavers. Other spellings: Qouchan, Quchan, Quochan, Kuchon, Khoojan. Ghoochan rugs and carpets usually have geometric patterns. Popular colours are dark burgundy, deep indigo, ivory, and light green, but also turquoise and blue.
