Kelardasht Rugs

Kelardasht is located in the Zanjan province. This region in northern Iran produces tribal rugs from Persian, Kurdish, Turkish and Mongolian nomads. Kelardasht rugs have geometric patterns and usually at least one or two medallions. The colours of these nomadic rugs are bright and lively and include dark reds, blues and brown. The weavers use the Turkish as well as the Persian knot.
