Balouch Rugs

Baluch rugs are hand-woven by nomadic Baluchi tribes in the eastern part of Iran. Most of them come from the province Sistan and Baluchistan on the south east border. A lot of tribal Baluch rugs, animal trappings and tent furnishings also come out of Khorassan near the boarder to Afghanistan, and are marketed in Mashad.

Baluch rugs usually feature an overall pattern or a prayer-rug design. The main color scheme is a rich burgundy and very dark navy blue with beige accents.
